Peak Season Surcharge

Peak season surcharge levied by shipping line during peak seasons. When the demand for cargo slots on a ship is high the demand may exceed the existing capacity. This leads shipping lines to acquire additional resources to cater to the demand for transportation. The additional cost the lines bears charging on top of the freight rate is the peak season surcharge.
